Margaret Christine Parker
Born January 31, 1920, in the Points, West Bay, she was the only daughter of the late Alex and Susan (Morrison) Campbell. She was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney. Margaret was a dedicated employee of Speedy Propane for 27 years. Margaret was a kind and caring person and was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and her great grandchildren especially loved Granny’s Christmas shortbreads and chocolate chip cookies. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her, especially her family and friends.
Margaret is survived and will be deeply missed by her sons Norm (Jean) Parker, with whom she resided in North Sydney, Lloyd (Linda) Parker, North Sydney, her grandchildren Wendy (Paul) Sehmbey, Steven, Blair, Lynn (George), great-grandchildren Dhillon, Naomi, Courtney, Chelsea and Braydon. She is also survived by sister-in-law Jean Campbell, special niece Darlene, special nephew Russell (Sheila) Wilson and great nephew Roy. She will also be sadly missed by her two furry friends Panda and Cupie, especially Cupie.
She was predeceased by her husband Stanley and her brother Roy.
Margaret and her family were so grateful and appreciative of the kindness and care she received from the nursing staff on second floor at the Northside General Hospital and also to Dr. Paul Hickey who was her family doctor for many years.
In keeping with Margaret’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service for Margaret will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Matthew Wesley United Church with Rev. David Luker officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to St. Matthew Wesley United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
