It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Andrew Joseph Rose, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Northside General Hospital.

Born October 3, 1946 in North Sydney, he was the son of the late Arthur and Clara (Pieroway) Rose.

Andrew worked as a stevedore with Marine Atlantic in North Sydney until illness forced him to retire in 1989.

He enjoyed spending time with family and was often spotted around town walking his dog Lacey.

He is survived by his loving wife Diane (Galpin) Rose, by his three children, Shari (Wade) Gouthro, Daryl Rose and Jeff (Tracy) Rose, all of North Sydney; by his four grandchildren, Travis, J.T., Dylan, Sarah; his five brothers, Ronald (Shirley) Rose, James (Wilma) Rose, both of North Sydney, Jackie Rose, Sydney Mines, Jerry (Donna) Rose, Westmount, Lew (Paulette) Rose, Dartmouth; by his two sisters, Ada Haggerty and Bertha (Len) McCormick both of Sydney Mines and by several nieces and nephews.

Andrew was predeceased by his son Trevor Rose and by several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Julio Martin officiating.
