It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Brenda passed away on July 29, 2018 at the age of 68.

Born in Florence, Brenda was the daughter of the late Stanfield and Gertrude (Nicholson) Jessome.

Brenda was a member of Holy Family Parish. She volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul and the Florence Council.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband Cameron, her precious daughter Valerie (Sandy) Nicholas, her loving son Greg (Alaina) Jessome, grandchildren, Samantha, her princess Kennedy, her buddy Cole and her new great granddaughter, Maeve. By her sisters, Virginia, Cecilia (Blair); brother Allan (Joan); brothers-in-law, Billy, George (Liz), Joe (Judy); sisters-in-law, Betty, Vivian, Marie, Roseann and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters, Ann Marie, Bernice, brothers, Robert, Michael and Theodor.

Visitation for Brenda will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. James Oliver officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will take place in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Florence.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.

Mom, you are the glue that holds our family together. You have always taught us to be kind, to love and respect others. We didn’t always get what we wanted but you always made sure we had what we needed. You always took us on some fun and crazy adventures and making memories that we will keep in our hearts forever and pass on to our children.

We don’t know how we will go on without you, but you will always be in our hearts, guiding us and never leaving us.
