It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, sister, aunt and friend, Bridget Mary Fudger, age 84, on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, following a prolonged illness.

Born in North Sydney, December 31, 1933, Bridget was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Osborne) Dolomont. She served along with her husband Fred, with the Canadian Air Force for many years. Bridget loved books and was an avid reader, especially enjoyed mystery novels. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.

Bridget is survived by her only daughter Anne (Charles) MacLean, Indiana, by her brother Mike (Linda) Dolomont, North Sydney, who moved in with Bridget to care for her and Linda lovingly referred to Bridget as “my little girl”, by sisters-in-law Sylvia Dolomont and Angela Dolomont, brothers-in-law Bob (Barb) Bradbury, Frank Fennell and Luc Ouellette, by several nieces and nephews, also by lifelong friend Margie MacNeil.

Bridget was predeceased by her husband Frederick Fudger, her sisters Molly Ouellette, Frances Sheffield, Mary Bradbury, Joan Fennell, Shirley MacInnes and Teresa Dooley, brothers Bill, Jim, Stephen “Ron” and Jack Dolomont; brothers-in-law, James MacInnes, Pat Dooley and George Sheffield.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Giorno, Dr. McCarville, Dr. D’Intino and the staff of Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Bridget.

A funeral mass for Bridget will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24th, at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.

Memorial donations can be made to Hospice/Palliative Care of Cape Breton.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
