It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Colette Marie (Farrell) Morrison, age 67, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in North Sydney on May 2, 1950, Colette was the daughter of Samuel and Anne Elizabeth Farrell. Colette was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Church in Baddeck and also the church organist for over 35 years. At one time she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Baddeck Fire Department.
She is survived by her husband Gerard, her two sons John Gerard (Nicole) Morrison, Moncton, Paul James (Julian) Morrison, Spryfield, her daughter Anne Elizabeth Morrison, Esquimalt, BC, her two grandchildren Taylor Marie and Chase Robert, her brother Sam (Diane) Farrell, Kentville, her sister Camilla (Michael) MacDonald, Halifax and her sister-in-law Mary Belle Farrell, California.
Besides her parents Samuel and Anne, she was predeceased by her brother Martin Farrell and an infant sister Sharon.
Visitation for Colette will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at St. Michael's Church, Chebucto Street, Baddeck. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Michael's Church with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
