Born on July 21, 1947, Doug grew up on the Northside. He followed his passion and became an electrician working for Lynk Electric for over 45 years. Doug was always active spending his spare time playing ball, hockey, golfing, bowling and darts. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling with Donna & their friends to warmer climates, especially Florida.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Kirkpatrick, Dr. Alexander Wawer, Dr. Ron McCormick, and Dr. Daniel French. Sincere gratitude is extended to all of the excellent palliative care doctors and staff especially Holly, Susan and Claudette, the staff and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Cancer Centre, along with the nurses on 4E at the Northside General hospital who showed such compassion and care, taking care not only of Doug but of our entire family. Their kindness will never be forgotten.

For their great spiritual strength and guidance, the family would like to thank Bishop Julio Martin and Rev. Fr. Douglas Beck.
