With saddened hearts and appreciation for a life well lived, we the family of Edward (Ned) Ingram, announce his passing on July 19th, 2019 at the age of 87.

Ned was born on the Hunts Island, Burgeo NL, to the late Frederick and Frances (Harris) Ingram. He later moved to North Sydney where he met and married his wife of 62 years, Stella. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney.

Ned was employed as a commercial fisherman since he was old enough to bait a hook with his father.  When he wasn't on the sea he could be found tending to his garden or in the work shed making doreys and mending nets. He enjoyed many summers with his family in Lake Ainslie camping and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the local crib games.  He particularly loved going for ice-cream and taking midday naps. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Stella (Groves) Ingram; sons Edward (Vickie) Lake Echo, Daryl (Leanne) Westville, and daughters Dorothy (David Wilson) and Kelly (Ron Whitty) both of North Sydney.

Grandchildren Troy, Shannon, Madison, Ethan, Brody, Josie, Gina and Raymond, also, his sister Phyllis Eccleston (Michigan).

Predeceased by brothers, George, Fred, Howard, Winston, twin brother Sidney and sister, Marie Keeping.  

Special thanks to the staff of Munro place at the Northside Community Guest Home and the many new friends he made during his time there. 

Visitation for Ned will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, with Rev. Julio Martin officiating. Burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. 

Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
