It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Glenda Peddle, age 62, on Saturday, December 7, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Port aux Basques, NL on November 14, 1957, she was the daughter of the late George “Bucky” and Mildred (Anderson) Burridge.

Glenda was employed as a CCA with MacGillivray Guest Home in Sydney for over 33 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters who were her pride and joy. She was an avid bingo player and loved to go shopping with her sidekick, Brody.

Glenda is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jack Peddle, daughters, Kelly (Christopher) Oliver, Hong Kong, Stacey Peddle (Trevor Bradley), Sydney Mines and her precious granddaughters, Brody and Scarlett; by her sisters, Nina Burridge, Eileen (Kenny) Chisholm, both of Sydney Mines, Wanda (Felix) Aubrecht, Saint Bernard, NS, Susan Chisholm, Christine (Michael) Cann, both of North Sydney; brothers, Cecil (Brenda) Burridge, Lower Sackville, NS, Willie (Julie) Burridge, High River, AB, numerous nieces and nephews; also by special longtime friends, Dora Matthews, North Sydney and James Boutilier of Sydney Mines.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hickey, Dr. Wambolt, Laurie Ryan, VON and Palliative Care for the care and compassion shown to Glenda and her family during her illness, as well as the management and staff of MacGillivray Guest Home.

As per Glenda’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private burial will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to charity of choice.
