It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Jacqueline Cartwright, age 70, on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 17, 1948 in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Laura (Clair) Grace.
Jacqueline worked as an administrative assistant for many years with the federal government and later with Avco Financing.
Jacqueline was a dedicated member of the Georges River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in North Sydney and was well known in the community for her baking.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband David, her two sons; Christopher (Christy), Jason (Elisa), by her four grandchildren; Ethan, Laura Grace, Joshua, A.J., also by her half brother Bill (Fran) Clair and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Marjorie Smith (Stewart “Bud”) and sister-in-law Elaine Clair.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Julio Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice/Palliative Care of Cape Breton County or the Ladies Auxiliary of the Georges River Fire Department.
