It is with deepest sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of John James Johnson, age 75, on Thursday, February 21, 2019, surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.
Born in Birch Grove, May 11, 1943, John was the eldest son of the late John James “Jack” and
Janet (MacDonald) Johnson. John was a historian and a self published author having written a history book ‘“The Right Spirit” A History of Birch Grove and its People 1840-1940’.
John will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Heather (MacLean), sons Stuart (Alison) Johnson, Ottawa, and David Johnson, North Sydney. He also leaves behind his two precious grandchildren Aaron and Emma Johnson, Ottawa, his brother Robert (Vina) Johnson, Coxheath, sisters Margie (David) Fowler, Lower Sackville, NS, and Florence Heather (Carl) Jardine, Ontario, also by numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very dearly.
As per John’s wishes there will be no visitation or memorial service. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
