It is with great sadness and broken hearts that, we, the family regret to announce the passing of a wonderful son, brother, father, uncle and friend, John Brian Reid Jr. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Guelph, Ontario.

Born on May 22, 1974 in North Sydney, NS. He is survived by his loving parents John and Laura Reid (Scott), North Sydney, sister Tanya (Adam), Sydney, daughter Kaitlyn Robinson and son Jordon Robinson, both of North Sydney, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his niece Brianna, nephew Brady and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by maternal grandmother Elizabeth Scott, paternal grandparents Moses and Evelyn Reid and uncle Walter Reid.

John was known for and will forever be remembered by his infectious laugh, his great sense of humor and his willingness to lend a helping hand. John could be found at the gym where he was an inspiration to many. He had a passion for music and was an avid sports fan who loved to cheer on his favorite teams the Philadelphia Flyers and the Green Bay Packers. John had a special love for all animals and enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog and greatest companion, Gage. John had an inseparable bond with his parents, he looked forward to visits home, his mother’s home cooked meals and late night conversations with his father. John’s strength and courage will carry on forever in our hearts.

There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A funeral service for John will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney with Rev. Julio Martin officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice in the honour of his name.  Online condolences may be sent to www.wjdooley.com.
