Joseph D. Boutilier

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Douglas Boutilier, age 75, a resident of 17 High Street, North Sydney, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in North Sydney on May 25, 1943, he was the son of the late Ernest and Irene (the Barb Leblanc) Boutilier. Joe worked in construction for 25 years until his early retirement. Joe was a very meek and gentle man and was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Elaine (Bailey), his daughter Virginia (Kenneth) and his son Stanley, his grandchildren David (Rita), Isabella and Kyle and one great-grandson Dustin; his brothers Sanford, North Sydney, Russell (Dorothy), Ontario, Adrian (Delores), Duncan, BC and Floyd (Harriet), Sydney Mines. Also surviving are his step-children Bill (Julianna) and Tanya (Charles), step-grandchildren Matthew, Adam, Jessie, Gabe and Annalynn, his mother-in-law Jessie Bailey, his brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his first wife Meta (Bradley), sister-in-law Dianne Boutilier and step-son Ricky Parsons.
A sincere thank you to Palliative Care, his doctors and nurses and the VON who came to care for Joe everyday while at home.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A private family and friends graveside gathering will take place at a later date. Condolences for the family may be mailed to W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
