Judy MacDougall
North Sydney
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of our sister, Judy Lynn MacDougall on March 22, 2019 at the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax Infirmary Site.
Judy was born in Sydney Mines, the daughter of the late Blanche and Bernie MacDougall of Halfway Road in Sydney Mines.
Judy was born with Turner's Syndrome and was profoundly deaf. This never stopped her from doing her "Thing". She walked 5 to 7 kilometers almost everyday day and was known on site to many people in North Sydney. She resided for the past 10 years at Beacon Crescent in North Sydney.
Judy was as stubborn as a mule and lived life her own way. She loved her daily walks, regardless of weather.
Judy is survived by her sisters, Diane (Gary) Phillipo, Ottawa, Roxie (late Greg) Benfer, St. Charles, Missouri, and Valerie (Fraser) Patterson, Ross Ferry, her brothers, Paul (Valerie), Sydney Mines, Russell (Debbie), Kelowna, BC, and Ben, North Sydney, sister in law, Jan MacDougall (late Harold), brother in law, Wayne Walker, Amherst and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was predeceased by her beloved mom, Blanche, and her father Bernie MacDougall, sisters, Holly Simm, Joyce Walker, brothers, Brian, and Harold.
As to her request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Judy will be laid to rest with her mom at a later date. Any tributes can be made to L'Arche Cape Breton, Haley Street Adult Services Center or a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
"Live everyday completely! Love for the joy of loving! Then you will be happy!"
