Stephen Francis Pentecost

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Stephen Pentecost, 71, on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines, Steve was the son of the late John “Jack” and Margaret (MacGuigan) Pentecost.
Dad worked for many years with H.B. Nickerson and National Sea Products in North Sydney. After he retired, he devoted his time to North Sydney Minor Baseball. He served as President, coach, umpire and volunteer. Along with his good friend Henry Bond, they gave their time running a canteen at the field along with any other duties that were required.
Stephen is survived by his daughter Nicole (Trevor), son Kevin (Francine), grandchildren, Adam, Jocelyn, Janelle, Matthew, Emma, Lucas, Ryan and Brooklyn. Also, by his sisters Florence Power and Theresa Knee, by his niece and godchild Susan (Wilfred) Dove and their children, John and Jacob, along with many nieces, nephews, his fur baby Molly and Gwen Keeping and the Keeping family.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret Pentecost, brothers, John, Arthur, David, James; sisters, Christina Williams, Bernadette Chapman, Rose MacAulay; grand niece Carrington Pentecost, nephew John Chapman, grand nephew Dawson Pentecost and brother-in-law, Berkeley Keeping.
In keeping with Dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
