Aeris Suzanne (Hood) MacMillan

With much sadness the family of Aeris Suzanne MacMillan announce her peaceful passing at the age of 91 on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Northside General Hospital. Aeris was born to the late Wilson and Maria (Ross) Hood and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Pamela (Isaac) MacMillan, her fur-babies – Amy and Miley, along with several nieces and nephews.

Aeris was predeceased by her husband, Gerald, and her infant daughter, Cindy Lou. She is further predeceased by brothers – William, Bob (Marg), Joe (Mary), John, Mullins (Mary); and sisters – Mary (Pete) Christensen and Adeline (Frank) Sturmy.

Aeris was a Registered Nurse for some years before retiring to be with her family. She was mainly a homebody with a kind heart who was always helping others in need. She had many obstacles in her life but fought them all and finally found the peace she so deserved.

Michael and Pamela wish to thank Dr. Ignacio and the staff of 5 East at the Northside General Hospital for their compassionate care, especially during her final days. Special thanks are extended to everyone who called to ask about Aeris and were able to come and visit with her these last few months. Our hearts are filled with love and we will be forever grateful for the kindness and support we have received over the last few months.

Honouring Aeris’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction and care of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home at 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to your local SPCA or a charity of one’s choice.

In heaven, there is an angel whom we lived with on this earth. We will miss you greatly.
