It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Alexis Ross Fenton age 95, on Saturday February 20, 2021, at her home in Georges River.
Born in Halifax on March 8, 1925, Alexis was the daughter of the late Angus and Jessie (Grant) Davidson. She was employed for many years as a manager at the Simpson’s Department Store, Halifax. Alexis was a home body who enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was an animal lover and enjoyed the company of her cats.
She is survived by her only son Philip Fenton and her granddaughter Shelley (Troy) Walker, her great-granddaughter Hannah Walker and great-great granddaughter Bella.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Walter C. Fenton and her sister Hazel Goodall.
A funeral service for Alexis will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. Covid-19 restrictions will be followed at the service with mandatory masks and limited amount of seating.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church, North Sydney.
