It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ambrose “Bud” Penny, age 87, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Bud passed away peacefully at his home the morning of Sunday, September 1, 2019.
Born in North Sydney on October 9, 1931, Bud was the son of the late William and Annie Jane (Hawley) Penny. Bud lived all his life in North Sydney where he worked in Public Works for the Town of North Sydney until his retirement. He and his wife Ellen spent many winters twirling around the ice arm-in-arm. He coached little league baseball for many years. During his retirement, he enjoyed working in his garage, gardening and loyally cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
