Angus Joseph MacDonald

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend, Angus MacDonald, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, at the age of 80.

Born in North Sydney on November 17, 1945, Angus was the son of the late Angus and Elvia (Murray) MacDonald.

Angus was a labourer by trade, and was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.

Angus is survived by his sister Kathleen Elva Griffin, nieces Tammy and Caroline Rudderham, step-niece Nancy Jones, as well as a number of other nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Angus was predeceased by his brothers James and Michael MacDonald; his sisters Rachel Long, Theresa Dempsey and Mary Gushard.

A funeral service for Angus will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney, with Deacon David Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.  Online condolences can be left for the family on the tribute wall of the obituary.
