It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ann Steele, age 66, loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Louise (Connolly) LeMoine. Ann worked for many years at the EDS call center in Sydney. Ann was very fond of crafts of all kind. She loved to dance and ice skate, and enjoyed travelling, especially to spend time in Margaree.

Ann is survived by her loving companion, Carter Gale; her two daughters Sandi Steele, Sydney Mines, and Rosanne (Cory Whitty) Steele, Sydney Mines; her two brothers Henry LeMoine (Ronnie), Gordon LeMoine (Kim), both of Halifax; one sister Sandra Steel (Marty), Cochrane AB; her three grandchildren Kayla, Alyssa, and Cameron, as well as her three great grandchildren Hannah, Jayce, and Maddison.

Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her husband, Glen; her grandson, Blair Harris; her step-father Carmen Devito, and her brother Billy Joe LeMoine.

A visitation for Ann will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. John The Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney with Rev. Jackie Warren officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial will take place at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.  All Covid-19 public protocols will be firmly implemented, including contact tracing, the wearing of masks, social distancing, and limited gathering numbers at both the funeral home and church.
