Anne Frances Lionais
With heartfelt sadness, we the family announce the peaceful passing of our beloved sister, Anne Frances Lionais, age 81, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in North Sydney on July 3, 1939, Anne was the daughter of the late Albert and Frances (Dooley) Lionais. Anne was a member of the Cerebral Palsy Association and in her earlier years could often be seen selling tickets for the association at the North Sydney Mall. She loved travelling, reading and latch hooking. Anne was very proud of the years she lived on her own in the Richard Hines apartments on Xavier Drive, Sydney. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in North Sydney.
Anne is survived by her loving family, her sisters Marguerite (John) Travers, North Sydney, Marilyn Turner, Halifax, Irene (Colin) McArthur, South Bar, Marie (Glenn) Sentner, Eastern Passage; her brothers David (Rosalie) Sydney River, Charles “Chuck” (Sally), Ottawa, Gerard (Catherine), Groves Point, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents Anne was predeceased by a brother-in-law Wally Turner, nephew Jamie Turner, sister-in-law Denise (Lamontaigne) Lionais and infant grand-nephew Kieran Angus McArthur..
The family would like to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home where she resided for the last number of years and also the nurses of 4 West at the Northside General Hospital.
A funeral mass for Anne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating.
Covid-19 restrictions will be followed with limited seating in the church and masks are mandatory. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
