It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Anne Elizabeth Musgrave at the age of 95 on Saturday September 2, 2023, surrounded by family, at the Miners Memorial Manor, Sydney Mines.

We have lost the most beautiful, loving and caring person we have ever known, our angel, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Anne was born in North Sydney, September 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jane (Cooke) Wall.

Anne was predeceased by her first husband Francis O’Toole and many years later her second husband Gerald Musgrave, also by her beautiful daughters Jacinta “Cinty” Miles and Linda MacLeod, her sons Raymond, Brian and Louie O’Toole, a sister Lillian Norman, brothers Phonse, Ned, Angus, Leo, Gerald, Louis, Thomas, Bill and Joe Wall.

Anne is survived by her sons Eddie O’Toole (Joanne), Kevin O’Toole (Gary), daughters Marlene (Wayne) Wallace, Theresa O’Toole, Elizabeth (Tim) Parsons and Patsy O’Toole, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, her sister Josephine Christopher, sisters-in-law Betty Wall, Marjorie O’Toole, Florence MacNeil and Shirley (Clyde) MacQuarrie. She will always be remembered by many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Carlotta Skinner.

Mom grew up in North Sydney where her and Francis raised eleven children. Later in her years she went to work at the Northside Community Guest Home and made some lifelong friends there. Anne is a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney Senior Citizen and Pensioners Club and was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Branch #19 Royal Canadian Legion. In her earlier years she was an avid bingo player, a great dart player and always loved her music and a good game of cards.

The family would like to thank Dr Kohlsmith and Dr Salah, all the staff at the Miners Memorial Manor for being so kind to our Mom. Remember you are always welcome to “Come on Up”.

Visitation for Anne will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Cremation to follow with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
