Armand Forest
North Sydney
We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Armand Clarence Forest, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital at the age of 88.
Born on the Magdalen Islands on May 12, 1935, he was the youngest of 17 children to the late Edgar and Louise (Hillaregay) Forrest. Armand enjoyed motorcycles, playing the guitar, working around the yard, and was always there to lend a helping hand to family or friends. He was a loyal and active parishioner of St. Joseph Church in North Sydney, serving regularly as a eucharistic minister, and teaching confirmation classes to new parishioners.
Armand was predeceased by the love of his life, Diane, and his oldest grandchild, Will. He was also predeceased by many in-laws for whose love and friendship he was very thankful, Billy (Rose) Penny, Cyril Reshore, and Barbie Penny.
He is survived by his children, Shawna (Bill) Skinner, Allana Haakman, Terry (Rita) and Brian; his grandchildren Christina, Kyle, Cody, Matthew, Shawntal, and Amber, along with 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his loving in-laws, Joan (Tommy) Nicholas, Becky Reshore, Brian (Gloria) Penny, Irwin (Bonnie) Penny, Alexander Penny, Chris (Angie) Penny, Timmy Penny (Paula Gouthro). Also left to mourn are his lifelong friends, Harold Adams and Dave McKay.
Armand was the most caring, compassionate, and loving father for whom any child could have ever asked. Family was the most important thing in Armand’s life and we are forever grateful for his love and dedication.
A special thank you to the Northside Homemakers and the VON for their care and compassion over the years.
