Betty Ann Devoe Obituary

Betty Ann Devoe Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Ann Devoe, surrounded by family in her home, on April 19,2026.

Born to Ann Devoe (Tutty) on March 3, 1957, Betty Ann, also known as Mom, Honey, Nanny, and Salty, is survived by her loving husband, Richard Parks; her proud and devoted children, Jeffery, Clifford, Nancy, and Emma Butcher; her grandchildren and the lights of her life, Tucker, Maggie, Thomas, Jacob, Henry, and Ellie, as well as her siblings, Maureen and Frankie, her mother, Ann, and her niece and nephew, Janine and Nicholas. Betty Ann was predeceased by her brother Paul, her father-in-law, Richard, and cherished friends.

Betty Ann dedicated her life to raising her four children, always saying they were her greatest accomplishment. She had a generous heart and a natural way of caring for others, something she carried into her work as a Community Residential Worker and a Medical Laboratory Technician. She found her greatest happiness in simple, meaningful moments: being surrounded by the many children in her family or sitting quietly by the fire with her honey. She was truly the centre of our world, and her love, strength, and presence will be missed beyond words.

Her family will receive visitors on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a celebration of life to follow at 3 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. The service will be live-streamed on the W.J. Dooley Facebook page. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Palliative Care or a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family by leaving a message on the tribute wall of the obituary at www.wjdooley.com.
