Blair Michael Ivey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Blair Ivey, age 57, on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Ethel (Snow) Ivey. Blair worked as a meat cutter for many years with Sobeys and Price Chopper, until illness forced an early retirement.
Blair enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glynis; his daughters, Nikki Ivey (Matthew Eveleigh), Sydney Mines, Blair (Charles) Cox, Bedford; his three grandsons, David, Nicholas and Chance. He is also survived by his siblings, John (Elizabeth) Ivey, Scotch Lake, Karen Ivey (Louis Brayon), Craig (Patsy) Ivey, Kevin (Michelle) Ivey, all of North Sydney, Art (Cathy) Ivey, Scotch Lake, Alex (Chickie) Ivey, Sydney Mines, several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his special friends, Judy, Peggy and Albert.
In keeping with Blair’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
