Obituary

Carmletta Rose Cholock

Mill Creek

It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Carmletta “Carmie” Cholock, age 81, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Northside General Hospital surround by her loving family.

Born on August 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Angelina “Della” (Carey) LeBlanc.  Carmie was a proud lifetime resident of Mill Creek where she enjoyed spending her summer months ‘down the shore’.  She was employed for many years at National Sea Products in North Sydney. Carmie was a member of the North Sydney Seniors & Pensioners Club and also TOPS North Sydney (#757) for 28 years.  She was a faithful member of Saint Joseph Church, North Sydney.  Carmie enjoyed her time volunteering at both Pensioners and TOPS making tea, selling bingo cards and spending time in the kitchen, as well as socializing with everyone. This was the highlight of her week.

Carmie is survived by her children; Calvin (Kim) Cholock, Middle Sackville, Tom Cholock, Mill Creek, Randy (Dawn) Cholock, Millville; her grandchildren, Corey (Jenn), Kyle (Madison),  Lauren (A.j.) Sophia; Ella and  her two sisters, Annie Hoben, Yarmouth and Philomena Storey, Oshawa;  and many nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn her loss, are special friends, Sylvia Harrietha and Mary Marple.

Carmie loved spending time cooking and surrounded by her family and was famous for ‘Grannie’s Breakfast’.  Carmie was an animal lover and idolized her fur babies Kippy and Blacky.  She was an avid crocheter and knitter; she showed her love by sharing her handmade creations to her family and friends.

Besides her parents, Carmie was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Hubert; her brother Ambrose, her sister Sylvia and good friend Helen Cholock.

The family would like to thank the staff from VON, HomeCare, staff of 3A Cape Breton Regional Hospital, staff of 4 West and 5 East Northside General, EHS, Dr. I. Ghenea, Dr E. Ignacio, Dr. A. Wawer, Dr. M. Sampson and Dr.A. Giorno.
