Charlotte Curnock Obituary

M. Charlotte Curnock

North Sydney

On a cool, rainy and sunny autumn day, Charlotte joined the love of her life “Don” to be finally reunited again after a long 11 years that she waited. She passed away October 8, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Bay de Loup, Newfoundland in 1938, Charlotte was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Wells.

She began working in a hospital in Halifax, later in the retail business, with Stedmans and Peoples until her chronic illness would no longer allow her to.

Charlotte loved to sew and knit but was best known for her cooking and baking skills. However, her greatest passion in her life was her husband Don, whom she adored for over fifty years, and her family, that were her world.

Charlotte was a longtime resident of King Street in North Sydney before moving to the Northside Guest Home four years ago.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in North Sydney.

She is survived by her children, Joan Kanary (Doug), Donna Curnock (Dave), Michael Curnock (Lynn) and Amanda Jabalee (Paul); her grandchildren, Michael, Jillian, Luke, Christine, Daniel, Alexandria, Lillian, Olivia, Kassandra, Mitchell; great grandchildren, Madeline and Logan; her sister, Eileen West (Tommy), Halifax; brother, John Wells, North Sydney and a nephew William.

Besides her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Donald Curnock and her brother, Art (Arthur) Wells.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Northside Guest Home and the staff if I.C.U and Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care shown to Charlotte and her family.

There will be no visitation by request. A private family service will be held at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Douglas Beck officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice/Palliative Care of Cape Breton or the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com
