Charlotte Marie MacNeil

Charlotte Marie MacNeil was born on February 5, 1944, in Bay St. Lawrence, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at the age of 80.

Charlotte is survived by her beloved son Bryan MacNeil. Charlotte was one of many siblings in a large family, and leaves behind her sisters Sylvia (Billy), Evelyn (Andy), Angeline, Lorraine (Nelson), Susanne, Julia (Jim), and her brother Russell (Paula).

Besides her parents John George (Johnny) and Mary Josephine (Mary Jo) MacNeil, Charlotte was predeceased by her loving husband Paul Bernard (Bernie) MacNeil, and her cherished daughter Audrey Jane MacNeil; also, sisters Noreen and Kathleen, and her brothers Bill, Earl (Mary), Alex (Sadie), and Gordon (Lillian).

Born and raised in a close-knit community, filled with family and friends, Charlotte was blessed to have many caring siblings, nieces, and nephews who regularly visited her. She cherished her time spent with family and the bonds they shared.

A devout Catholic, Charlotte found great joy and solace in attending church. She also loved the simple pleasure of camping with friends at New Dawn and enjoying a nice cup of tea with friends and relatives who visited. 

Charlotte's life was a testament to her faith and love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral mass for Charlotte will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 20, 2024, at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
