It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Christina Lorraine “Pinky” Benedict, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 79.  Lorraine passed away peacefully with her daughter Angela and husband Phil by her side at the Northside Community Guest Home.

Lorraine was born in Summerville, Hants County, NS on January 6, 1946, to the late Pauline Martha Harvey. Lorraine loved to help others especially family and many people in her community. She was a giver and not a taker. She showed kindness and respect to all people she encountered. She loved to cook and bake and was well known for her wonderful food. Lorraine was famous for the homemade rolls she baked. She loved music, singing and dancing.

She had many friends in her life. Some very special friendships were with Emma, Betty, Phyllis, Shirley, Walter and Wendy. The family also wishes to acknowledge her close friend and traveling companion, Lorraine Ward, and Lorraine’s daughter and husband. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and dog Maddie.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters Angela (Philip) Ongo and Wanda (Gary) Feltham; her grandchildren, Samantha, Dustin, Caitlin, Bryse; great-grandchildren, Camren, Aubrey, Zendaya and Asher. She is survived by her special niece Cindy who was like a daughter to mom in every way and other nieces and nephews

Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her sisters; Flora “Tiny” Lake and Glenna Wood; brother Dexter Sanford.

The family wish to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home and Harbour View Hospital Day Program, “Lorraine’s Angels”, for their kindness and compassion shown to mom.
