We, the family regret to announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen Clare Reno, age 69, of Beech Street, North Sydney and formerly of Jackson Drive on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the AnCala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in North Sydney on March 27, 1952, Clare was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Dunphy) Reno of North Sydney and the late Albert Reno of Halifax.  Clare could be seen walking anywhere, any day and in any weather.  She would never accept a drive because walking was good exercise.  She was a very independent lady who enjoyed living her life her way.  She was an adherent of the Catholic faith.

Clare is survived by sisters-in-law Phyllis, North Sydney, Sandra, New Brunswick, brother-in-law Roy Shepherd; also, by nephews Paul and Stewart Shepherd and Joe Reno, all of North Sydney; her nieces Stacey Carey, North Sydney, Angela Shepherd, Alberta and by a number of grandnieces and grandnephews.

Besides her parents, Clare was predeceased by brothers Earl and Wayne, her sister Joan and a brother Philip in infancy.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  A private family committal service will be held with Rev. Jackie Warren officiating.
