It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David (Dave) Wayne Covin, age 71, in Abbotsford, BC on December 3, 2022. 

Dave was born in North Sydney, NS on August 21, 1951, where he resided until November 1977, when he moved with his family to Vancouver, BC.  Over the years his work took him to various cities in BC, Alberta and Ontario, finally retiring in Abbotsford.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Linda (MacIntyre), Abbotsford, BC; his daughter Cathy, Aldergrove, BC; his son Don (Tammy), Abbotsford, BC; grandchildren Abigail and Sam; sister Cathy MacDonald (Phonse) Sydney Mines; uncle Ches (Sis) Power, aunt Annie Power, cousins Don (Carol Ann) Power and Ken (June) Power, sisters-in-law Sharon (Terry) Ducarme, Ronnie (Kevin) Murphy and Beverly MacIntyre, and special friends Gordie and Jos Hare, Midge and Wendy Neil, and Al and Caroline MacIsaac and many other cousins and friends.

Dave was predeceased by his mother and father, Gladys (Power) and Leo Covin; parents-in-law Charlie and Ann (Ingraham) MacIntyre, aunt and uncle Rose and Leo Power, grandparents Ada and Wallace Power and sister-in-law Sheilagh (MacIntyre) Burchell.

At Dave’s request there will be no service.  A graveside committal will occur at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Sydney.  Memorials may be made in memory of Dave to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of one’s choice.
