It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Scott, age 80, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Northside General Hospital with his son and daughter by his side.

Born in North Sydney on May 23,1941, he was the son of the late Robert Nelson and Hazel (Warren) Scott-MacAdam. David worked as a steel worker at Sysco until his retirement. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and travelling to Prince Edward Island. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, floor hockey and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife Marie (Harrietha) Scott, his daughter Linda McGuigan, his son John (Kathy) Scott, both of Sydney Mines, the mother of his children Mary (Alderson) Scott; his grandchildren, Scott (Aisha), Jenene (Thomas), Jessica (Brad), David ( Jessica), Jordan; his greatgrandchildren Maxim, Alice, Luca, Jack, Charlee and Mya. Also surviving are his two sisters; Violet ”Sis” Taylor, Parrsboro, Sharon (Martin) Doyle, Wawa, Ontario; his three brothers Conrad (Shirley) Scott, Sydney, Joseph and Nelson Scott both of North Sydney; step-daughters Anita Jamieson (Patrick Nadeau), Wanda (David) Gillis Seaward, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter Wanda Lee in February 1963, son-in-law Charles McGuigan, brothers George, Fenwick “Finney”, Bobby, Alf, infant brother Ronald Scott and Billy MacAdam; his sisters Rachel Armstrong, Mildred Rout, Mary Scott, Marie Fudge and his step-father Bill McAdam Sr.

Special thanks to brother Connie and step-son David for visits to the hospital and his grandson Scott for his visits and taking him to appointments.

There will be no visitation or service. A graveside committal will take place at Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery, Sydney Mines at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
