Delma LeBlanc Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Delma, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving sister, treasured aunt, and dear friend. She entered eternal rest peacefully on August 4th, at the age of 68, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Born on March 27, 1957, in Erickson, Manitoba, to Rev. Thomas and Victoria Pollock, Delma lived a life full of grace, compassion, and unwavering love. She was the heart of our family, a guiding light whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. Her strength, wisdom, and gentle spirit were evident in all she did—from nurturing her children and grandchildren to offering a listening ear and comforting words to friends and family.

Delma was married to Ken, her valentine and love of her life for 49 beautiful years, and together they built a home filled with lots of laughter, love, and enduring memories. She was a proud mother to Valerie (Chad) Mitchell, and April [Ryan and Bella (grand-pup)] Head. A grandmother to Sarah and Wendy, each of whom she adored and inspired with her boundless love and encouragement.

She was also a beloved sister to Grace (Huntley) O’Connor, and Tommy (Jean) Pollock, and sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many, always ready with a warm hug. Her friendships were deep and lasting, marked by her loyalty, generosity, and genuine interest in others. Delma’s heart was full of love for her family, and she expressed that love through her many passions. She found joy in crafting, treasure hunting, and baking—always creating and sharing with those around her. Delma had a special gift for uncovering beauty in every day, whether it was through her delicate porcelain dolls, her charming tole paintings, or the glistening beach glass she lovingly collected. Her creations were more than hobbies; they were reflections of the warmth and generosity she carried in her soul. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and kindness—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A celebration of Delma’s life will be held on Monday, August 11th at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Foundation, or one of your choosing, in honor of her generous spirit.

Online condolences can be left for the family on the tribute wall at www.wjdooley.com. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Delma’s love will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered - always in an eternal glow.
