Diane Forest

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Forest, age 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Florence, August 26, 1943, Diane was the daughter of the late William and Annabelle (Laffin) Penny. Diane enjoyed to cook and bake, also visits from family and friends serving tea and sweets, entertaining with stories and laughter. She loved to go for drives with Armand for ice cream. Diane was a very generous person who often went out of her way to help the less fortunate. For many years Diane and Armand sponsored many foster children from overseas countries. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, lifelong partner Armand, daughters Shawna (Bill) Skinner and Allana Haakman, sons Terry (Rita) Forest and Brian Forest, grandchildren Christina, Kyle, Cody, Matthew, Shawntal and Amber, sisters Joan (Tommy) Nicholas, Becky (Cyril) Reashore, brothers Brian (Gloria), Erwin (Bonnie), Alex , Chris (Angie) and Timmy (Paula), also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Diane was predeceased by a grandson Will Forest, brothers Billy and Peter, sisters Irene and Patricia, sisters-in-law Barb and Rose.
A funeral mass for Diane will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday April 12th at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J.
