Donald James LeBlanc
May 19, 1956 - June 17, 2022
Sydney Mines
It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Donald "Spruce" James LeBlanc, announce his passing at the Northside General Hospital on Friday, June 17th, 2022.
Born on May 19,1956 in Alder Point, the son of the late Maurice and Lorraine (Roland) LeBlanc, he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Donnie was a gentle yet hard working man who took great pride in everything he did. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and those who knew Donnie would often say, "He'd give them the shirt off his back if they needed it."
He was a loving husband to his wife Janet (McInnis), and a devoted father to his two daughters, Melissa and Brooke. Both of whom were his pride and joy. He also had a very special place in his heart for "Poppy's Little Man", his grandson, Owen. He is survived by his brothers Maurice (Christine), Frankie (Ona), Gary (Debbie), Louis (Dawn) and Art, as well as his sisters Theresa, Cathy (Maurice), and Pat. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Donnie was predeceased by his infant daughter Ashley, his brothers Darren and Danny, and his sister Tena.
The family would like to thank Dr. O’Grady for his care of Donnie throughout the last number of years. Also, Dr. Andrew Wawer, Dr. Alexander Wawer, the palliative care team, the nurses and staff of the Northside General Hospital. Thank you to the staff at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism during this difficult time.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm at St. Anne's Parish, Alder Point on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, with Father Godwin Obike officiating. Burial will take place at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Florence following the service. Online condolences can be sent to the Family by leaving a message on the tribute wall of the obituary at www.wjdooley.com
Think of me as one at rest
For me you should not weep
I have no pain, no troubled thoughts
For I am just asleep.
