It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Dobbie on July 3, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his faithful wife, Sandra Lee, by his side. He was 59 years old.
Born in Victoria, B.C. on August 22, 1965, Doug was the son of the late Douglas Sr. and Anne Dobbie and raised by his foster parents Fran and Roger (deceased). Doug was a very open and expressive person. He was genuine and honest. He was a funny character with a long list of expressions and sayings. He loved having a beer with friends. His presence will be missed forever.
Doug leaves behind his wife, Sandra Lee LeBlanc, to deeply mourn his loss. He is further survived by his sister, Carol Dobbie, his sister-in-law Bobbyjean LeBlanc with whom he was very close, along with special, life-long friends – Sean Wakem, Roy Campsall, Ed Gonski and Rob Swim, also nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his brother, Fred, and his sister, Diane.
A celebration of life for Doug is being planned for August 22, 2025 at 11am at Alder Point Beach. Online condolences can be left for the family by writing on the tribute wall of the obituary page.
