It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Earl Joseph Wood, age 65, who passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home.

Born in North Sydney on August 15, 1954, he was the son of the late Earl Wood Sr. and Anne (Young) Wood.  In his early years, Dad enjoyed racing and restoring cars.  He also enjoyed spending time playing cards with his many buddies.  He was a drywaller by trade and had many cherished friends and family. 

He is survived by his five children, Barbie Clarke (Robert), Heather Jongedijk (Ken), Steven Wood, Eric Wood (Dennis) and Cheryl Wood; his 5 grandchildren, Nathan, Kameron, Kirkland, Riley and Hayden.  He is also survived by the mother of his children Rosemarie MacIntosh, his four siblings Debbie McVety, Diane Piccott (Gary), Kathy Wood (Robert Cirtwell) and Darryl Wood, as well as his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
