Edith Leona Parker

With great sorrow and compassion, we announce the peaceful passing of Edith Leona Parker of North Sydney on December 23, 2024, at the age of 70. Born March 6, 1954 in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Leona (LeMoine) Scott.

Edith was a quiet and caring person. She faced many hardships in her life but did so with determination. Family was the most important thing in the world to Edith. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in North Sydney. 

Edith is survived by her daughter Lynn Parker, grandchildren Courtney Parker (Jonny), Chelsea Parker (Raymond), and Braydon Young, her great-grandson (whom she adored), Dawson; siblings Dennis, Gertrude, Janet, Debbie, and Maureen, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Edith was predeceased by her brothers George, Raymond, Tom, and Freddie, as well as her sisters Lillian, Mary, Jean, and Madeline.

Special thanks are extended to the entire staff of Miner’s Memorial Manor where Edith had been living and receiving such excellent care the last few years. Special thanks are also extended to the Dialysis Unit of the Northside General Hospital, along with Dr. Hewlett for all of his care.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home at 107 Pleasant St. in North Sydney. A service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be left for the family by writing on the tribute wall of the obituary page.
