It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eldon "Lloyd" Anderson announce his unexpected passing on Tuesday May 13th, 2025, at the Halifax Infirmary, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on January 27th, 1952 at a home in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. In his younger years he worked in Fort McMurray, Alberta with the Labourers Union but he soon realized he wanted to be closer to home. Lloyd had a passion for woodworking. After retiring from the labourers’ union, Lloyd continued to keep busy by working with Johnny as a drywaller. He was truly a jack of all trades.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Joyce Anderson, his brother Russell "Happy" Anderson and his niece Cassidy Anderson. He will be lovingly missed by his longtime partner Chirawan "G," along with his daughters Megan (Zack) Chislett, Annie (Jordan) Snow and son David Chislett; his grandchildren Abigail, Jordan, Hannah, Gracie, Sophia and Zachary. Also left to mourn Lloyd’s passing are his brothers and sisters - Calvin (Donna), Raymond, Beverly (Ron), Patricia (Richard), Bonita (David), Darlene (Armand), Wanda (Wayne), Alex (Sandra), Johnny (Donna), Donnie, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
When Lloyd was not working, he enjoyed playing snooker with his buddies Michael and Lenny, as well as going out for supper with his children to enjoy a nice hot turkey dinner. Lloyd also spent a lot of time working with another great friend Calvin. He enjoyed travelling to Thailand to enjoy the warm weather and spend time with his partner G. Lloyd was always there to be a helping hand to anyone he knew. He will be missed by all those who loved him.
The family would like to thank the cardiology team at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the Halifax Infirmary. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Cape Breton Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held from 1-3 pm, Monday May 19th, 2025, with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney, with Patrick O'Neill officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
