Where there is love and loyalty, there are no regrets - only the heartache of losing someone you’ve loved.
It is with unbelievable sorrow that my brothers and I announce the passing of our mother, Elizabeth Louise Campbell on February 9, 2026, at the age of 86.
Mom was born in North Sydney on November 17, 1939 at the home of her grandparents, Kate and Bill Burton. Mom lived most of her life in George's River before moving into Harbourstone Enhanced Care six years ago.
Mom enjoyed various past-times throughout her life. At one time she bowled in the mixed league with my father at Strand Bowling Alley and was proud to have been a high scorer. She did some cake decorating, tole painting, and gardening. Mom was an avid reader and enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle for as long as she was able. She enjoyed her trips, whether it was a day trip around the Cabot Trail, or to Halifax, Las Vegas or Scotland.
Mom is survived by her daughter Wendy; sons Billy and Bobby; grandsons Ryan and Tyler; sisters Marjorie King (late George) and Ruth Reynolds (Carl Rudderham) as well as estranged daughter Patricia Florence and her family.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Emmett, along with her mother Clare (Burton) Reynolds, stepfather Steve Reynolds, and brother Gordon.
We would like to thank the staff at Harbourstone for taking such great care of mom. Special thanks to MacDougall’s Court (Cheryl, Kelly, Beatrice) and Steels Lane (Jackie, Roxanne, Lisa, Pam and Lauralee).
There will no visitation or funeral service at this time. A committal service will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bras d’Or in springtime. Online condolences can be left for the family by writing on the tribute wall of the obituary page.
