Enid A. Williams

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister, aunt and friend, Enid Anna Williams on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Northside Community Guest Home, just shy of her 100th birthday.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 4, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Hillary and Adele (Poirier) Merritt.
Enid graduated from Normal College in Truro and spent most of her teaching career at Notre Dame School in Sydney Mines. She had spent the past several years as a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Delores (Ernie) Tobin, Jacqueline Armstrong; also by her brother Bill (Emma) Merritt and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Williams, four sisters, Bernadette, Geraldine, Elaine, Pauline; brother Kelvin Merritt; brothers-in-law Kevin Armstrong, Jim Monahan, Eddie Kerbs and Alex Cole.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home, Dr. Patrick O’Grady and Dr. Andrew Wawer for the care and compassion given to Enid over the past several years.
As per her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
