It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend, Ernie King, 88, on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Bras d’Or on October 23, 1931, he was the son of the late Harry and Florence King.

Ernie was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR).

He is survived by his sisters, Mae Todd, Dartmouth; Marion Savolainen (Bill), Ottawa; two brothers, Bunny King (Florence), Ralph King (Rodney), both of Bras d’Or; by several nieces and nephews and his very good friend, Linda MacNeil.

Besides his parents, Ernie was predeceased by two brothers, Art and Bill.

There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home,107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
