It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Evelyn Elaine Andrea, age 82, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Northside General Hospital.

Born in Chaffey Township, Muskoka, Ontario on October 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Melville and Ella (Yearley) Kaiser.  Evelyn served with the Royal Canadian Air Force for three years and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion in North Sydney. She enjoyed bowling and curling and was an avid gardener.

Evelyn is survived by her husband Martin “Marty”, her two sons Martin Jr. (Anna), Gregory, and daughter Shelley Andrea (Barry), all of Edmonton, her four grandchildren Clinton, Mitchell, Heather and Nicole.  Also surviving are her two sisters June MacKie (John Bennett), Ontario, Rita Palmer, Ironville, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her sister Marie Thoms and brother Raymond Kaiser.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on 4 west at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and 4 east at the Northside General Hospital who went above and beyond caring for Evelyn during her illness.  God Bless all of them.

There will be no visitation or service at this time.  Cremation has taken place.  A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Comfort Fund.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
