It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Diane MacNeil, age 69 on Sunday April 10, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney following a brief illness.

Born in North Sydney on May 7, 1952, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Roy) MacNeil.  She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.  She enjoyed playing cards, coloring and going for walks.  She also enjoyed working elections and taking care of her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by her daughter Cindy MacNeil (Chris), her son Steven MacIntyre, four grandchildren Matthew, Christina, Laurel and Angelica.  Also surviving are her sisters Eva MacNeil, North Sydney, Lynn Pottie, Tarbot, Roseanne Gillis, North Sydney, Mary Witherall, Georges River, a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Roy and Charles (Dobbie), sisters Elaine Wall, Patricia Collins.

There will be no visitation by request.  A graveside committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date under the direction of W.J.
