It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Frederick Samuel McIntyre, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Halifax, at the age of 65.

Freddy was born in North Sydney on September 5, 1960. He was the son of the late Angeline (McIntrye) Johnston and step-son of Chalmers Johnston.

Freddy is survived by his brother John George (Kelly), proud uncle to Johnny (Kelsey) and Julia (Steven). He also leaves behind a special uncle Tom McIntyre, aunts Anne Almon, Bernadette (Danny) Finney and Maude Brussard.

Freddy spent his younger years growing up in Georges River with his family, many cousins and friends. He had a passion for taking pictures of nature and listening to music. Freddy lived and worked in Halifax for the last number of years until he retired. Freddy will also be missed greatly by his two best friends, Johnny and Charlie who lived in his apartment building in Halifax.

Freddy was predeceased by his mother and step-father, his brother James (Gloria), sister Tina Marie and grandmother Angeline McIntyre.

A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20th at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J.
