It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Geraldine Monica Robinson, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, age 73, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in North Sydney on December 5, 1949, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Gerald and Frances (Young) Robinson. 

Geraldine was a devoted mother and grandmother who would do anything for the good of her family, often putting their needs well before her own.  Left behind to mourn her great loss are her daughter Angela (Robert) Robinson, her son John, and her grandchildren - her pride and joy, Emily, Nathan and Stephen – her little man.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and god-children.

Besides her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her sisters Pearl, Annie, Artie, Janet, Emily, Marge, Marie, Patricia, and her brothers Billy and Johnny.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

The family would like to thank the palliative care staff who cared for Geraldine – especially Dr. Burns and nurse Julia Penny, as well as the entire staff of the Cape Breton Hospice with special mention to her buddy “Loretta” (Laura) as she would fondly call her. All of the dedicated care she received was very much appreciated.

A funeral service for Geraldine will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J.
