Winnie Greene, 90, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 7th, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by family.

Born in North Sydney, September 25th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Ann (Ings) Gillam. Winnie was a loving mother and homemaker. Winnie was a member of the St. John Anglican Church, North Sydney and was an active volunteer throughout her life. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Winnie will be greatly missed by her children, Michael (Barbara) Greene, David (Andrea) Greene, Charles (Susan) Greene, son-in-law, Joe Larade, her grandchildren Katherine, Michael (Tara) and Marianne Greene, Mary Charlotte and Carol Ann Larade (Sandy), Laurie Quinn (Benny) and David Quinn (Jennifer), nieces and nephews.

Winnie was predeceased by her husband Charles (Sonny) Greene, daughter Cathy Larade, her brother Hugh and three sisters, Evelyn, Charlotte and Susan.

There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12th 3:00 p.m. from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Julio C. Martin and Archdeacon Brenda Drake officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
