Gregory Austin Jessome
Georges River
I am devastated to announce the sudden passing of my soulmate Greg Jessome, age 60, on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Born in North Sydney, January 19, 1962, Greg was the son of the late Ambrose “Brozie” and Theresa (LeBlanc) Jessome.
Greg served with the Canadian Coast Guard for thirty-seven years, meeting many crewmates that he greatly admired and respected. He received the Exemplary Service Award medal from the Governor General of Canada.
Greg leaves behind his wife Lisa, his bonus kids Kiersten (Caleb) and John, his greatest treasure granddaughter Isla and his side kick Dino. Also surviving is his brother Ambrose, sisters Gladys (Cliff), Judy (Jake), Stephanie (Fred), nieces and nephews William, Ambrose, Jillian, Marlene, Annelynn, Melinda, Wayne, Shauna, Ilana, Wayne G., Gordon, Curtis, Lisa, Freddy, Steven, and Veronica. Greg took great pride in lovingly tormenting each and everyone of them. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Witherall, brothers-in-law Ronald (Deborah), Allan (Nicole) and Mike; sisters-in-law Charlene (Jack), Denise (Robert) and several other nieces and nephews.
He will also be missed by all his “Puma” friends in Georges River.
Besides his parents Greg is predeceased by sisters Marjorie (Wayne), Valerie, nephew Michael and father-in-law William Witherall.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Alex Wawer and all the first responders who went above and beyond with their care of Greg and the respect they showed him.
By request there will be no funeral service. We ask that you do not mourn, but instead pour a glass of rum, turn up the tunes and like the captain would say “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local SPCA or dog kennel.
