It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Laudrick Osmond, at the Northside Community Guest Home, on December 21, 2024, at the age of 88.
He was the son of the late Laudrick Osmond and Marjorie (Brown) Osmond. Also passing before him were his step-mother Alice Osmond, his wife Maxine, their children - son Gordon and daughter Linda, and life-long friend, and partner in crime, Bonnie.
Harold is survived by special niece Esther Waugh, adopted granddaughter Natalie MacMullin, and his much-loved friend Tracey MacLennan. He is also survived his great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. Left behind are other family members not mentioned for personal reasons of Harold’s.
Born in Florence, Harold grew up and moved to Ontario for many years; later returning to Cape Breton to live the rest of his life. Harold was a kind and gentle man, spending much of his life helping and giving to others. He was also a funny man, pulling pranks and telling jokes with everyone. He also loved to hear a good joke.
Harold was an avid fisherman, and spent most of his free time fishing. He also enjoyed a good yard sale or flea market. He would spend many hours each week travelling around Cape Breton with his beloved friend Bonnie, looking for treasured finds.
Many thanks going out to the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home for their great care of Harold.
There will be a committal service for Harold at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Lakeside Cemetery on Johnson Rd in North Sydney. Online condolences can be left for the family on the tribute wall of the obituary page.
