It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Heather Louise Ginter, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 64.
Born in North Sydney on December 24, 1960, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Standing) Quirk. Heather always seemed to have a smile on her face. She had a deep love for animals of all kinds, but especially cherished her two dogs, Ozzie and Lola, and her cat, Bella. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and friends, as well as dancing; Heather absolutely loved to dance. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in North Sydney.
Heather is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lloyd; her son, Daniel (Lenore), with whom she shared a very special bond; her siblings – Michael (Geraldine), George (Angela), Doug, Donna (Robert) Tilley, Sharlene Mitchelitis, Sharon Oliver, Alice (Glen), Gillan and Michelle Quirk; sisters-in-law – Christina Burt and Linda (Hughie) Sullivan; brother-in-law Troy (Rita) Ginter, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Heather was predeceased by her sister-in-law Cavell Quirk; brothers-in-law Bob Oliver, Brian Mitchelitis, Paul Ginter, William Ginter, and Harry Burt, as well as her father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Pauline Ginter.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her dedicated home-care workers, all of whom were very dear to her.
A visitation for Heather will be held from 2-4 pm, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be held the following day on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Condolences can be left for the family by visiting the tribute wall of the obituary.
