It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother Henry Roland Bond, 75, of North Sydney on Monday, March 23rd at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. 

Born in North Sydney on November 28, 1944, Henry was the son of the late Henry and Nell (Scott) Bond.  Henry worked at H.B. Nickerson & Sons and National Sea Products for 30 years.  He also volunteered for 25 years with the North Sydney Minor Baseball League.  Henry was a family man first and foremost and our lives are a testament to his legacy.  He will live in our hearts forever.

Henry is survived by his wife and love of his life, Debbie (LeBlanc) Bond, his sons Bobby (Michele), New York, Steven, North Sydney, his sister Avitus (Lloyd) Fudge, North Sydney, brother-in-law Bill Hammond, Halifax, his nephews Rod and Mark Hammond.  We can’t forget to mention his furry friends Daisy and Dixie. 

Besides his parents Henry and Nell, he was predeceased by a sister Joan Hammond.

We want to thank all of the nurses and doctors from 4C and the ICU at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Also, we want to thank our life long family physician Dr. Paul Hickey for always being there for our family.   Lastly, we would like to acknowledge dad’s two best buddies; Kenny Donovan and Ronnie Quirk. He loved when they stopped in for a visit.

Dad, we hope you are sitting in your chair, watching SportsCenter with the remote in your hand while eating your steak and potatoes.  Rest In peace.

There will be no visitation.  A funeral service for Henry will be held at a later date in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  Memorial donations may be made to Haley Street Adult Services.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
